Have you ever wanted to make your own milk substitute? This is your sign! This delicious, creamy cashew milk has a dash of vanilla that will send your taste buds to the moon. Pour it over cereal, add it to your smoothies, or just drink it as is! You won’t regret it.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup raw cashews
  • 4 cups filtered water (plus more for soaking)
  • 1 vanilla bean
  • 1 pinch sea salt
  • 1-2 tbsp maple syrup (optional)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Soak cashews in water for 4+ hours, then rinse and drain.
  2. Prepare the Vanilla Bean: With a sharp knife, split the vanilla bean down the middle lengthwise, scraping out the seeds using the back of the knife.
  3. Blend soaked cashews with 4 cups of filtered water, vanilla bean seeds, scraped vanilla bean pod (for extra flavor), salt, and optional ingredients until smooth.
  4. If you prefer a smoother consistency, strain the cashew milk through a nut milk bag, cheesecloth, or fine-mesh strainer into a large bowl or pitcher.
  5. Squeeze out as much liquid as possible and store in the fridge.
  6. Perfect for your smoothies, coffee, or straight-up sipping—enjoy!
