Hyrdosols, also known as floral/plant waters, are produced by steam distilling fresh leaves, fruits, flowers and other plant materials; they have very similar properties to essential oils, but are much less concentrated. Hydrosols still contain important properties such as their water soluble components, essential oil molecules, and the fluid that was in the plant when it was collected. These are powerful natural healing tools in the aromatherapy world for their abilities to calm the nervous system, ease anger, uplift mood, eliminate toxins, relieve skin irritations, and help connect more to nature and self.

Geranium is a genus of 422 species of plants that are found in temperate regions of the world and the mountains of the topics, but mostly in the eastern part of the Mediterranean region. Researchers have examined the benefits of geranium essential oil in many human and animal studies-- and it has been shown to have antioxidant, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and astringent properties. Rose geranium essential oil comes from one of the species in the geranium family that has a fragrant smell of rose, but contains almost the exact same profile as regular geranium essential oil. Rose geranium essential oil has been used as an antibacterial and antifungal agent in ancient medicinal practices, as well as a food preservative.
We have chosen to use a special Biodynamic Rose Geranium Hydrosol sourced from Sophia’s Garden in Sebastopol, CA in our Adrenal Supertonic for its ability to balance the mind, body, spirit, and emotions, and for its pleasant floral aroma and taste. We have sourced the highest quality rose geranium hydrosol that has been grown Biodynamically (which is a form of farming that is more intensive and restrictive than just organic farming) because the health of the soil and integrity of the growing processes is extremely important to us at Cymbiotika.
