Apigenin is a common flavonoid found in plants. Flavonoids are a type of naturally occurring phytochemical in plant tissue. Plants use flavonoids to protect themselves from pathogens and radiation from the sun. Flavonoids also help plants regulate their metabolism.
Apigenin has been shown to inhibit the activity of CD38 which is an enzyme that consumes nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) in ever-increasing amounts as we get older.
Not all supplements are created equal. We source the highest quality and most bioavailable apigenin with 98% active compounds. All of our ingredients are third-party tested to ensure purity and potency.
Apigenin can be found in parsley, celery, celeriac, red and white sorghum, tarragon, yarrow, basil, rutabagas, oranges, kumquats, onions, wheat sprouts, thyme, spearmint, and cilantro.
Fresh parsley and dried chamomile flowers are among the highest dietary sources of apigenin. Apigenin constitutes 68% of the total flavonoids in chamomile plants and fresh parsley reportedly contains 215 mg of apigenin per 100 grams.
