How Active B Vitamins Support Healthy Aging

As we get older, the body’s ability to efficiently convert certain B vitamins into their active forms may decrease due to a variety of factors. Using active forms of B12 and folate—such as methylcobalamin and methylfolate—can help support key physiological functions including red blood cell formation, methylation processes, and cellular energy. These nutrients also play a role in maintaining healthy homocysteine levels and overall metabolic health.*

Better B Vitamins, Better You

By providing B12, B6, and Folate in their active forms, this formula bypasses those limitations. Encapsulated in liposomes, these nutrients are absorbed efficiently—helping you feel energized, focused, and resilient every day.

Vitamin B12 Adenosylcobalamin

What it is:
Adenosylcobalamin is the second active coenzyme form of Vitamin B12. It is stored in the mitochondria, where it drives energy production by supporting fatty acid and amino acid metabolism.

Why we use it:
Vitamin B12 must be converted into its active forms—methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin—in order to be utilized by the body. However, certain genetic variations, such as MTR or MTRR mutations, can reduce this conversion efficiency. Synthetic forms like cyanocobalamin, commonly found in some supplements, may not fully convert to the active forms. By using methylcobalamin in our formulation, we provide a bioavailable form of B12 that is ready to support brain, nerve, and heart health.*

L-Methylfolate

What it is:
L-methylfolate is the bioactive form of folate, a B-vitamin essential for methylation, DNA synthesis, and detoxification. The calcium component helps stabilize L-5-MTHF.

Why we use it:
Humans cannot synthesize folate and must obtain it through food or supplements. However, up to 70% of the population carries genetic variations in the MTHFR gene that can reduce the body’s ability to convert folic acid into its active form. L-5-Methyltetrahydrofolate (L-methylfolate) bypasses this conversion step, ensuring more consistent availability of folate’s benefits. In addition, while folic acid can sometimes mask the hematological symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency, L-5-methyltetrahydrofolate has a lower potential to do so. *

Vitamin B12 Methylcobalamin

What it is:
Methylcobalamin is one of the two active coenzyme forms of vitamin B12. It supports neurological health, DNA synthesis, and red blood cell formation. It also plays a key role in methylation—a critical process involved in regulating homocysteine metabolism and supporting neurotransmitter production. Synthetic forms like cyanocobalamin, commonly found in some supplements, may not fully convert to the active forms. By using methylcobalamin in our formulation, we provide a bioavailable form of B12 that is ready to support brain, nerve, and heart health.*

Why we use it:
Unlike synthetic cyanocobalamin, methylcobalamin is a bioactive form of vitamin B12 that the body can readily utilize. It helps support mood, memory, and energy production, while contributing to the health of the brain and nervous system.*

Vitamin B6 (P5P)

What it is:
Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate (P5P) is the active coenzyme form of vitamin B6. It supports more than 100 enzymatic reactions in the body, including those involved in healthy neurotransmitter production and red blood cell formation.*

Why we use it:
Most supplements use B6 as pyridoxine hydrochloride, which requires conversion before the body can use it. P5P is already active, supporting serotonin, dopamine, and GABA production, along with hemoglobin synthesis.
